Welcome to the range of sewing classes that we offer!
While we receive many inquiries about classes, at the moment, we only offer a group meet up on Monday nights in Hove. The other classes on offer are in another location in Brighton.

Share Skills • Swap Ideas
Join a vibrant community of sewing, knitting, and crochet enthusiasts in a fully equipped sewing studio in Hove! If you're a beginner or an experienced maker, this is a space to share skills, swap ideas, and inspire each other. Bring your project, enjoy a cuppa (and biscuits, of course), and get stitching!

A relaxed, friendly environment to work on your own projects
A buddy system to learn from and support each other - this group is untutored.

Whether you're a beginner eager to master the basics or an experienced seamstress looking to refine your skills, here are some classes on offer in Brighton:

Courses are 10 weeks and you will be able to enrol on a course for free if you meet the following criteria:
- Fullfil the residency eligibility requirements set out by the Education and Skills Funding Agency
- Be resident in Brighton and Hove
- Be 19 years old or over at the start date of the course
- Be unemployed and receive a mean tested state benefit or be employed and earn less than £20,319 gross annual salary
Do you want to train to design, make and market your own sewing textiles product?
Business and Textiles Design, Make & Market is a hands-on 10-week course for adults aged 19+ who want to turn their creative ideas into real, market-ready products. Whether you’re passionate about sewing, dreaming of launching your own brand, or exploring a new career path in textiles and design, this course offers the tools, studio space, and expert guidance to bring your vision to life.
You’ll develop your own product—from concept to prototype—while learning essential skills in sewing, branding, marketing, and entrepreneurship. No need to have it all figured out—just bring your ideas and curiosity, and leave with a finished product, a personal portfolio, and the confidence to take your next step.

The course is run by the Brighton Sewing Centre, Unit 2, 83a Montgomery Street, Hove on Wednesdays 10 am to 15.30 pm
